The Purpose of Marion County Youth Bassmasters is to promote and encourage youth fishing through education of fishing ethics, sportsmanship, fishing techniques, and conservation of natural resources. To fulfill all responsibilities we owe to our community, our state, and our society to help maintain natural fishing resources.

The 2nd stop for the Marion County Youth Bassmasters was at Hernando! 6 Jr teams and 8 High School teams came out. Lake Hernando proved to be very tough. Taking home the win in the Jr Division was Beau Inman and Jacob Spect with 3.35lbs! 2nd and big fish went to Landon Haynes with 2.68lbs and his .96lb big bass! Rounding at the top 3 by a few hundreds of an ounce was Justin Pitts with .33lbs! Taking home the win in the High School Division was Cooper Hughes and Isaac Dorland with 9.62lbs. Cooper had the big bass with his 4.83lb Hernando Hawg!!! 2nd went Dalton Loos and John Walker with 5.29lbs and rounding out the top 3 was Jason Haynes and Bo Wiley with 3.37lbs! Next stop will be at St. John's Astor on Jan 23rd!!! Be Sure to stop into Astor Bait while your out that way and say Hi to Jake! Astor Bait is always willing to help us out! They have a wide variety of Bait and Tackle and are minutes from the ramp! Don't Forget Sunday Jan 10th we will be meeting at 44 Tackle Co in Inverness! Come around 12:00pm to shop and spend those 44 Tackle gift cards as well as those Fitzgerald $$$$! Lunch will be served at 1:00pm and we will have some guest speakers!
