The Purpose of Marion County Youth Bassmasters is to promote and encourage youth fishing through education of fishing ethics, sportsmanship, fishing techniques, and conservation of natural resources. To fulfill all responsibilities we owe to our community, our state, and our society to help maintain natural fishing resources.

The Marion County Youth Bassmasters battled it out on Orange Lake for their last stop before the Classic! 7 Junior teams and 6 High teams showed up to see if they could find those big ol' Orange Lake bass! Taking home the win on the Junior side was the team of Justin Pitts and Michael Antonov with their solid 10.69lb bag! Fishing solo and taking 2nd place was Patrick (PJ) Mcclure with his 5 fish limit weighing in at 8.84lbs! His bag was anchored by the Big Bass of the Junior Division which was a 4.24lb Orange Lake Hawg! Rounding out the top 3 was Beau Inman with his 7.94lb 5 fish limit! Taking home the win in the High School Division was Ethan Tuttle and Timmy Cole with their big bag of 15.77lbs!!! 2nd went to Cooper Hughes and Isaac Dorland with 13.48lbs. Cooper caught an Orange Lake Giant for Big Bass on the High School side. His fish weighed in at 7.79lbs! 3rd went to Claude Loftin and Tyson Verkaik with 13.03lbs. Huge thanks to the Captains for taking out our youth anglers and a really BIG THANK YOU to Ethan's grandparents for cooking up an awesome shore lunch for us all! It was great to see everyone hang out and fellowship! The Classic is just around the corner (May 15th and 16th) so make sure to get registered. Classic registration fee is $100 per team or $50 per angler as we are fishing two days. Day one is at Lake Sante Fe and Day two will be at Lake Yale!
