The Purpose of Marion County Youth Bassmasters is to promote and encourage youth fishing through education of fishing ethics, sportsmanship, fishing techniques, and conservation of natural resources. To fulfill all responsibilities we owe to our community, our state, and our society to help maintain natural fishing resources.

We had 8 Jr teams and 9 High School teams come out and compete on Lake Griffin! Many of our youth anglers caught some fish and had a great time on the water. Taking home the lead in the Jr Division was the team of Beau Inman and Jacob Specht with 11.99lbs! Beau took home big bass honors with his 7.98lb Griffin Giant!!!! Taking home 2nd was the new team of Cayne and Hayden Reddish with 6.54lbs and rounding out the top 3 in the Jr Division was Landon Haynes with 5.65lbs! Taking the W on the High School side was the team of Tyson Verkaik and Claude Loftin with 12.21lbs. Tyson and Claude just came off of a 4th place finish out of 140 teams in the Bassmasters High SChool Open on the Harris Chain! That finish qualified them to compete in the High School National Championship with B.A.S.S! They are already qualified to compete in the National Championship on the FLW side as well this year! This team is on fire!!! Close behind in 2nd was the team of Ethan Tuttle and Timmy Cole with 12lbs even and rounding out the top 3 was Jason Haynes and Bo Wiley with 10.56lbs! Cooper Hughes took home Big Bass honors on the High School side with his 4.39lb Toad! Next stop will be Lake Panasofkee March 21st @ Tracy's Point! We will also be having a meeting Sunday March 14th @ 44 Tackle Co. Lunch will be provided at the meeting and we will have some guest speakers for you so you definitely don't want to miss out!
